The department was created in 1960 as a combined department comprising Physiology and Pharmacology. In 1976, Pharmacology was separated from physiology, and the department was renamed the Department of Veterinary Physiology. The Department of Biochemistry was established in 1998 and merged with the Department of Physiology in 2011. The department was again renamed as the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.
The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry is a hub of learning, innovation, and research excellence.
